Words of Wisdom

If anyone is set designing for A Midsummer Night's Dream or Into the Woods in the near future, I have some highly relevant news for you. The other day, while experimenting with Jus-a-Rol, I stumbled upon a method of making a very convincing scrap of tree bark. If you prefer your tree bark homemade instead of store bought, I recommend that you: 1. Take the leftover bit of pie crust dough that you may be tempted to bake yourself as a treat and spread it on a small cookie sheet. 2. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over the dough - not for taste, this provides a realistic, sap-like sheen. 3. Let simmer at 200 degrees C for 40-45 minutes. Feel free to check your email, shower and receive phone calls during this time - your room is at the end of the hall so you won't be bothered by the smell. 4. Remove from oven before the kitchen fills with smoke.

Note: The product has very limited flexibility, so when bending to the contours of your tree or throwing at trashcans in frustration, be aware that it may shatter and disperse throughout the room.

In other news, Galway really is as cool as they say. And much windier and rainier than they say. Overall, five star review.

Nice work. You've embodied the British sense of humor very well, I'm glad you could use it to help ease the pain of a charred treat from the oven. Keep enjoying that cheery weather!

Oh, sweetheart. You made me laugh and cringe. A sense of humor is definitely a saving grace. See you soon!
