Things I'll Miss About Dublin

Inspired by Rebecca and compiled with the help of Regan over dinner in Galway:

Walkability
Cobblestone (opposite of walkability but fun)
Talking to strangers and not getting funny looks
The Irish Writer's Centre
Very sketchy time keeping
Living on an island
The Abbey Theatre
The importance of tea
Ryanair
Sheep
Pub music
Running on campus
Student discounts for literally everything
The 2 euro coin (having valuable change)
Identifying UCD students in Dublin by their scarves
The spire
Thousands of other people with pale skin
Things sticking to my wall
Restaurants such as: Lemon, Bewley's, Queen of Tarts, Elephant & Castle
Foods such as: Crunchy Nut cereal, digestive cookies, raspberry rice, Cadbury's everything
The ability to have this exchange with a bus driver as I disembark: "Thank you sir." "The pleasure was all mine."
Being asked how "the craic" was
Being referred to as "pet," "love," and "a star"
Unpronounceable names
The lady who walks her two black dogs through campus every morning at 11:00
Having a kitchen, however small
The musicians on Grafton
Statues of important and occasionally fictional people on every block
Christmas decorations within sight at all times

Sigh. I know the countdown is hard and there are many things that you will miss but there are a bunch of people here who are missing YOU and are very excited that you will be home soon. Savor your days and relish those to come as well. Love you.
Love,
Mom

yo, just replace "Identifying UCD students in Dublin by their scarves" with identifying Alec and I by our scarves, no? Also, you can also identify us by our intimidatingly thoughtful and intelligent looks also.

i hope you meant to write the word also three times in one sentence. i look forward to identifying you by both.

It's good to reflect on a place, an experience, a people. My favorites are the pair of walkability and cobblestone, and the bus driver's reply (I suspect he meant it).
Love,
Dad
